balance transfer for students

Hi,

I have gone back to uni age 40 after a period of serious mental health difficulties. I have a barclaycard with £3000 pounds owed which I used to buy equipment for my film course. I also have a £1000 free student overdraft ( on my students accout at the same bank) which I am about halfway into at the moment. I am struggling with the Barclaycard repayments, although I have kept them up, paying off the minimum. The interest is a staggering 18 % and each payment takes very little off the overall balance. I do not work. I am living on my student loan during term time and income support otherwise. What are my options to reduce my interest? It seems I would have to do some form of work in order to be considered for a new account. But I have only just got back on my feet and am not really ready for that. Any suggestions appreciated!
