Hi
Can anyone help. My electric oven has had it really and I am thinking of changing the oven & gas hob to a freestanding cooker. The oven is currently 'built under'.
Has anyone done this themselves? Too much hassle? or worth it?
Any advice most appreciated

yes it can be done, dont know how good at diy you are.
remove oven and hob, if gas make sure its a gas safe engineer. the hardest part is cutting the worktop exactly along the edge of the other units, this will split the top of the worktop a little.thiscan be covered up with 2 metal end caps screwed into the edge of the worktop. screwfix £3 each. seal the open cut before you put the strips on with silicone/clear varnish.
make sure you measure the new cooker is 595 wide. if possible to move the base unit either side a little. re cut the plinth get the cooker fitted. job done.0
