If you have kids, plan the 6 weeks off in advance to save your sanity and money.
- Stock up on things to keep them busy if it rains, such as craftsupplies, shredded paper for paper mache etc.
-For the nicer days I write a list of local free things they can do with a picnic, for example parks, picking blackberries, I then save a bit for any extra childcare that might be required, or for days out, tesco vouchers for entry tickets. the other option is to buy an annual pass for somewhere, I did one for the local steam train one year, but can also do it for national trust, local petting farms, anywhere really, then you have kind of pre paid and will have something to do with them if money is tight and they need entertaining.
- start saving a bit of extra cash now for school summer hols, even if only 50p's in a jar, it will help.
- buy sun lotion etc when on offer at other times of the year0 -

Sun tan lotion (factor million if they make it), and a big floppy hat for gardening!
Ive already spent a load on the garden as Im gearing up to grow my own fruit and veg this year. Hopefully I will have lost more weight too so I can fit into all my old clothes, save buying new ones!!:D0 -
