comparison site confusion
Options
Using the comparison sites on this web site and others I am getting various prices back from each site.
One would say I am saving £280 a year and then others say I can expect savings of only £42 a year. I am putting in the same details every time so I can not understand the massive difference so much so I think I am better off with the devil you know. Do you think the comparison sites are just telling me what I want to hear, if so then why is Martin allowing this to happen. We don't want lies we want the whole truth.
Is there a perfectly simple answer to this. I am sure there is and one of you will know.
I am currently with Atlantic, which I might add has its web site down at the moment and has done for weeks now so I cant get my exact usage, they have been the cheapest for me for some time now and I am quite happy with them.
Any advice or comments on this would be very welcome
Regards Chris

There are a couple of things that can cause this. One, you need to put in number of kwh a year, not £spent a month/year to get accurate results. Secondly, when you get the results check the tariff figures against current spend. Do both sites calculate your annual spend to be the same? They should do if you put in same tariff and kwh used.
Also, check the tariffs recommended - what kwh prices do they show. If not the same, it could be that one site has updated prices and the other hasn't.0 -
Ok, so all of these sites are in it to make money. Also, you should only use a site that allows you to see the complete breakdown, and choose the one that costs less per year all up, not how much they say you save. You also want to see full terms and conditions before signing up!GC January 2015 - £0/£1200
