Tenant removing fire labels!!!

Couple of thoughts come to mind:
Who is managing this property and responsible for checking it is good order? Is it the agent? Were they also responsible for checking-out the old tenant and returning their deposit? Because it seems to me that they have failed to do either of these things properly. Damage was caused to your property. This damage is such that you have to find a replacement (by the agent's own rules) so is it worth exploring whether the agent is liable for some or all of the cost of that? (As an aside, if you go down this route then you might find that the agent miraculously decides there's no problem with you reattaching the labels).
Otherwise, consider this as damage to property. You have insurance so consider making a claim.
You might also want to think about specifically mentioning the removal of labels in the tenancy agreement. As a tenant it would never occur to me that these were required and I might have just snipped off what I thought was an annoying label. If you make your future tenants aware then they will understand the reasons and be less likely to do it.0 -

The agents "charged" the previous tenants £50 because they felt they should pay something but charging for replacement leather furniture would be too steep. That is what paid for the other sofa which is not a patch on mine but has the required label.
I do not have any labels sitting around and didn't want to start looking underneath my own sofa if I was doing something wrong.0
