Hi
My Dad is burning about 10 Gas units a day. His last quarter bill (actual read) was £450. He lives in a shaley ( spelling?) bungalow, baxi 105e combi thats 3 years old (unreliable junk) and 8 single radiators.
I did a comparison with my meter yesterday. I only burn't 3 units and the heating was on all day...my parents were out and we have a gas range.
There is no gas leak.
I did notice his meter was turning a lot faster than mine.
I do have a condensing boiler though...wouldn't make that much difference though would it?

New boiler should make a difference. Do you and your dad have metric or imperial meters? Dad's must be metric - what about yours?0

How do you tell?
we are both on EDF, his daily use shows 11 units a day and mine 3.
Mines got a little red needle that goes round fast and my dads has got digits.
I am wondering if maybe its the boiler thats not working properly?
Its very strange.0 -
Gas meters measure units in cubic feet (imperial) or cubic metres (metric).
If your meter is metric, one unit is roughly 11kwh. If it's imperial, a unit is roughly 31kwh.
You can tell by looking at the meter - somewhere it'll say cubic metres or feet.0
