    You could also fund the Halifax regular savers through the Halifax Reward Current Account, if you pay in £1,000 per month, you get a £5 (after basic rate tax) reward in lieu of interest.

    So you should pay £1,000 into there, and then fund your regular savers from that account, and transfer whatever is left else where. If you do that for yourself and your wife, thats an easy £120 per year!!

    Also you could (maybe should) fund your ISA's first, as interest is tax free.
