Make electric water feature solar?

Hi - not sure if this is in the right place, but it is in my garden!

I bought an electric mains water feature from Argos clearance last year v. cheap.
But I now realise I need to pay an electrician to come and install it!!

I'm sure I have seen something you can get to convert electric ones to solar? Or could I buy a sloar pump and take the other one out?

Any one have any idea how much any of this might cost?! :rolleyes:

Seen cheap solar pumps on ebay they are only 6 volts, Do not pump a lot of water and will not pump higher than a few inches. Also their life expectancy is not great, be lucky to get more than a year out of one.

I soon dropped that idea.

Converting 12v solar panels to 240v is not very efficient. And will have the added risk of more electrical items which are not designed for outdoor life.

Why do you need an electrician to fit it? Are you modifying the wire supplied?
Fitting a plug is OK to do yourself, Joining wires & adding an outdoor socket needs more thought.
You can buy garden spike power sockets for the garden, These can be used almost anywhere & no need to modify any cables.
