Tiscali email

Hi
I have a Tiscali email account that i havn't used for a few years. I want to start using it again but the inbox is full. Does anyone know if there is a quick way of deleting all the messages as doing one page at a time is taking me ages.
Thanks
:j

Yes I know what you mean. I've kept mine as a back up and it can take ages to delete.
Have you tried dragging the entire folder whilst still closed down onto delete or 'trash'?
Or right clicking and see what you options are?
I'll have a look in a while but am downloading at mo.:p

Thanks for your help. I tried dragging the whole folder into trash that didnt work.
I have found if you go to settings you can put 200 emails on to one page so thats a bit of help but it will still take me hours.

Much of it may be junk - if it is anything like mine!

You could try downloading mailwasher which will screen and delete the emails prior to downloading them to your email program. Assuming of course, that you want to.

You could try getting a decent account such as Google Mail instead.

you can put more e-mails on 1 page and then just tick the box at the top and press delete . 2 or 300 at a time

Tiscali is a pain. The amount of spam I get in mine is disgusting! It's why I got Thunderbird and I'm glad I did :grinheart

Anywho. If you click on the 'manage folders' option at the top of your list of folders: inbox, draughts, etc.. you can then tick/check boxes. I don't want to do it on mine as I created folders which have stuff in, but it might let you delete the folders..? (if you're happy to bin the whole lot, which it sounds like you probably are..) I suppose there's a good chance it won't let you delete your inbox, but thought I'd mention it, since it'll save you lots of time if it works...

Also, bear in mind that using your tiscali email again may cause you hassle in future if you change ISP. I agree with Marty, and I like Yahoo! mail too, but my latest favourite is gmx: can make up to 10 email addresses on one account, for keeps or 'disposable', can collect other email in it, from other accounts, etc..

    Hth :)
