Oversea Marriage Conundrum

Hello everyone,
I am a French person living in the UK and getting married this summer in France. I am looking for the best way to pay for all wedding related services, since all our money is here in the UK and in pounds and all our bills will be over in France and in euros.
Should I just hunt down the best rate using Martin's Travel Money Maximiser, take all our money out of our joint account and change it before we go?
Should I try to open up a French bank account (or use one of my family's) and transfer the money this way?
Should I open up a new account in Nationwide and use their debit card to pay for things?
Or is there another alternative with better savings prospect?
Thank you very much in anticipation for your answers,
Damien
