New washing machine prob-aaggghh

Hello, Just had brand new hotpoint washing machine delivered.

all plumbed in ready to go
turn power on- ok lights come on
turn machine to cycle to start 1st test wash. small noise and from inside the machine a white flash and now no power.

any idea- have checked all fuses all ok- no circuits blown etc..

i am just unlucky with a faulty machine?

and this is a product replacement for a broken machine.

    yep unscrewed 2 bolts at back-

    as we waited for cycle to start-white flash from inside machine-

    any ideas- strange thing was my old machine- did the same thing was 2 years old- cycle started and stopped 1/2 way thru- and restarted with flash- guy who cam out showed me the circuit board had blown
    hence why getting a new machine now a hotpoint, but so strange, it happens the 1st time i turn it on???

    Sounds like you could have some wiring fault.
    Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.

    well getting new machine replaced tomorrow- when new machine blew- no fuses went etc, so strange- just unlucky with machine maybe.checked plug socket- works ok with everything else..thanks to all

    If you have a choice, get something different to a Hotpoint, they do seem to be plagued with problems.
