Why so many FTSE ones? There's a lot of overlap there.

I'm actually most interested in FTSE Small Cap and FTSE AIM 100 but wanted to learn about how to track the indexes so added the others.

    Hi pjbltd,
I'm not currently in the market but when I go back in and want to track an index I use ishares etf's as these can be traded just like shares.

Just type ishares into your search engine and have a read if you don't know how they work, very straight forward though.

This is the way I do it so as I can buy or sell fast if need be without having to buy into a unit trust or anything like that, my last ones covered the Nikkei 225 and ftse 100 and both paid out a dividend too.

I was once caught out by having to send in a sell order by post for a unit trust so now I like to remain in control so use these.

    Hope this helps.
