Screen Resolution

I have a friend who is having problems with his monitor resolution.
He is running Windows Millenium and has a LG1730s monitor.
The problem is that we can't change the screen resolution, the slider bar in the properties menu will not move at all to allow the change.
I have tried updating the driver but the system says the driver is the latest available.
What is most annoying is that the screen was OK untill last week when this happened. I have even reinstalled Millenium and this made no change.

Download the latest driver, uninstall the one you have then install the new one (even if its the same driver)
I suspect the drivers corrupt:idea:0 -
The driver's the latest available? Are you talking about the monitor driver or the video card driver? They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

I meant the monitor driver.
Can I delete the driver if the monitor is running, would it not stop it working?
I would have no idea about the video card. As I say its a friends PC and is very old.Change is here to stay0 -
Its the video driver that needs updating:idea:0

I'd suspect that the graphics card driver is the most likely culprit, rather than the monitor driver.I meant the monitor driver.
