hi,
I am sending a powerpoint out to many email addresses as part of my dissertation and finding quite often that people arent replying because the file isnt conpatible with their computer. I have it as a Microsoft Office Powerpoint - is there a way I can make it as conpatible as possible so to encourage people to answer.
Also is there an alternative to Microsoft Word available? I have had a dodgy version but had to re-format awhile ago and now I am struggling with the restricted version...
Thanks
Jen
p.s If anyone (females only please) is interested I'm doing my diss on HPV and Cervical Cancer. It involves completing a intial questionaire and then possibly completing a second one following viewing a powerpoint presentation. I would be hugely grateful if anyone would as I currently have 22 data points which I can use as people just arent replying to the second email.

Which version of Powerpoint are you using?
If it's 2007, then you can save it in compatibility mode which will make it viewable by other versions of Powerpoint, or you can publish the presentation as a PDF. Adobe Reader is free and will probably be installed on most computers anyway. The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

For compatibility mode, click the Powerpoint "Jewel", go to Save as, click "Powerpoint 1997-2003 Presentation"
To save as PDF, click the Powerpoint "Jewel", go to Save as, click "PDF or XPS" then just make sure PDF is showing as the file type in the "Save as" box.The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

You can save from any Windows application as PDF by getting a PDF printer utility (so you print and it creates a PDF file instead of physically printing to paper).
I use CutePDF at the moment, but have had others as well.0
