If you take their line rental.TT are now offering Free Weekend & Evening Calls to 01/02 numbers.
However bear in mind that TT Line Rental are now barring access to short codes like 1899.
Also if you use Caller Display or 1571 basic voicemail TT charge for this.Where as BT dont charge.
If its free E&W calls your after the Primus Saver offer still looks the best bet,and you can use this in conjunction with 1899 for your cheaper peak rate calls.
FOOTNOTE . The bar only applies to TT Line Rental Customers. Not those who cps their calls from BT.

I'm looking for advise for my mother who's just moved into a new flat. She has a Bt line but no connection at the moment and she's spending money on her mobile like it's going out of business. I'm not up on phone bills since the company picks up the tab and has since the year when there was only BT.
but ... her neighbour is saying if she goes with talk talk she will not have to pay a line rental and all evening and weekend calls are free, is this correct. I'm trying to work out her cheapest option. She doesn't have the internet, cna't have cable, likes to pay her bills in cash, doesn't make a lot of calls, but when she does she likes to talk  and talk and talk, mainly in the evenings. Any suggestions?Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -
Pricefighter you might like to clarify please. I'm with talktalk and Mon-Fri I dial a prefix 1899 (as recommended by MSE ages ago), what you are saying sort of contradicts this, or is it for new customers only?. If not, what is likely to happen when we dial 1899?.
There must be thousand of MSE's who chose to opt to talktalk when that 1yr special offer which went on for ages gave free evening & weekend calls and we chose to use 18866 or 1899 for daytime calls, now it seems we might be stuffed. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Dont Panic. As i said its only TT line rental customers who are barred from using Indirect Access Codes like 1899. ( I have added a note to my op to make it more clearer.)
If your line rental is still with BT and you just CPS your calls to TT your ok.PF.0 -

To get free evening and weekend calls with TT she needs a Landline billed by them.It will cost at least £10.50p a month.
She would be better off using BT and getting her free e&w calls from Primus Saver 2. Have a read of MSE advice here : http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1095003038,99872,PF.0 -

Thanks pricefighter, I'm just looking for the cheapest option. Do all rental lines go through BT or is a landline with TT something she would pay extra to have installed? I think BT want to charge her about £70 to switch the line back on.Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -
