O2 Bluebook synchronisation problems

I know this should technically go into the Mobile Phones section (and indeed I have posted it there too), but the people in this forum are, well, more techie. So I thought I'd stand a good chance of getting a response here.

My mother got a Sony Ericsson C902 last week through her new contract. My father, in all of his wisdom, decided that just transferring the SIM card and copying the contacts onto the new phone would be far too simply, and instead exported them all to blue book and deleted them from the SIM card (God knows why he did this last step).

The problem is that now he can't sync the C902 to Bluebook to get the contacts back on to it, and I too am coming up against a brick wall. I know the settings are correct, and have verified them many times, but when I try to synchronise them I get the message 'invalid server response'. This is not covered in any FAQ I can find, nor does a Google search turn up anything useful. Thus I turn over to you MSE people for help.
