Help to find a desk! any ideas?

I recently realised that in the past me and hubby have over paid for furniture. My mother recomended a catalougue firm for our sofa and i was super impressed it looks and is the quality of one that would have cost us thousands. So now i need a really good desk as i am about to start working from home and wondered if anyone could help.

Argos are pricey for the stuff i am looking for any suggestions.

Help greatfully recieved.

It's worth keeping an eye on Ebay. I couldn't believe our luck when we got our new desk, no body would know it's second hand, not a mark on it, cost a few hundred and all for £19 :j

Second-hand shops sell very nice desks that usually just need a rub over to look like new.

got to agree with jennifernil,IKEA are oustanding in quality and value for money.they are all self assembly but are quite easy to put together

If you're in Yorkshire, or anywhere nearby, you're very welcome to a sturdy and perfectly serviceable desk, with drawers, that is currently sitting in our stables!

I second the idea of ebay - I got a practically brand new ikea desk (RRP over £100) for £10.

Julybride. Dont discount furniture auctions. It's amazing the low prices that really good quality used furniture is going for. Usually it's a viewing day followed by the auction the following day (look in Yellow Pages for Auctioneers). If you can't attend on the auction day you can leave a bid with the auctioneers and they will bid up to that amount for you.
