Can I protect my possessions if the bailiffs come round for my ex's debt?

That's really great guys, thank you.
It turns out a letter he had about debt collectors crossed in the post with a conversation he had with them to start arranging repayments, so there's no visit imminent.
His CCJ is still being processed and a repayment plan being agreed (they've demanded the full amount, he's appealing on the basis that a monthly repayment plan is the only way he can afford to do it), so I don't think that has been referred on to bailiffs.
Thanks for all the advice and comments, it's been useful for him too - I've given my ex this info and he was grateful. In and out of debt since 2001. Old dogs CAN learn new tricks.

Apparently he didn't appeal the CCJ because they had already passed it over to an enforcement agency. He had a visit today from a company called 'high court enforcement' who's company address is in devon. Is this a bailiff? He's going to phone them and give them an update on his situation.
I am moving out on Tuesday and I'm very nervous about them turning up while I'm moving boxes and things. Any advice on this as it's a nerve wracking situation. In and out of debt since 2001. Old dogs CAN learn new tricks.

Last july i was robbed the guy had taken mine and my partners laptop and £300, now i have moved IT was a needed move and i got a letter saying i owe money which i do because icouldn't pay my council tax.
I seem to b on good terms with the Baliff i phone him weekly to keep him up to date with everything that is going, on but now he can't do much and must recieve the payment in full by next friday otherwise i will b having ballifs round.
I just don't know what to do, i am scared, and tired of dealing with this debt, if i culd pay it off i would, but i am on low income, and i rent my house.
