edited 20 April 2009 at 9:12PM in I won! I won! I won!
According to a site I have won 4 tickets to the Swan Lake ballet. However I haven't received the prize (or notification) and now the show is over. Have emailed them (well the one email address I could find as their contact us page isn't working for me) so will see what they say :(

Only found out I had won due to google alerts.

BTW just wanted to say a thank you to Serendlws for posting the comp!

*UPDATED*
I emailed them and they said that they had emailed me. Searched through all of my emails (including trash) and nothing is there from them. I emailed them asking them for a copy of the email and this is the reply I got:

"I'm afraid I haven't got a copy of the original email as we have to delete
messages on a regular basis due to lack of space.
Sorry I can't be of any more help. As I said, this is the first time this
has happened in the five years I've been working at xxxx and we
regularly run two competitions every week,"

As this comp only finished on Saturday 14th March (2 weeks ago) I don't feel this is an adequate reason. So where to from here??

*UPDATED 20th April*

Have had an email from the site offering me 2 tickets to either of 2 shows - none of which I particularly want to see. Considering that I won 4 tickets originally for a show I did want to see where do I stand on this?

That's a shame. Hope someone gets back to you soon and offers you something else as compensation.

I would fill in the online form at the Advertising Standard Authority.

    http://www.asa.org.uk/asa/

They helped me receive a prize (very quickly) about a year ago when I was being given the runaround.

    Good luck

Exactly the same thing happened to me with Classic FM. , last year. I too won tickets to Swan Lake. They didn't even e-mail me or anything. I saw my name on the winners list ages after the show was over. I phoned and e-mailed. They sent me a box set of CD's instead, although I still would have preferred to go to the ballet.

There's nothing else anyone can do. All you can do is either accept the tickets they have kindly offered you or take your case to the ASA as advised above (they will also be able to tell you exactly where you stand in regards to the situation). Nobody can give you tickets for an event that is in the past.
  • Have you contacted the ASA yet as others have advised? They really should be able to help which, as twotimes says, no-one else can. Good luck.
