Ipod shuffle sync help!!

Hey all

I'm new to this ipod lark, I've had a bog standard MP3 player before but it died so I bought a Ipod Shuffle as have long train journey this weekend.

However I cannot for the life of me work out how to sync my music from my Itunes library to the ipod! I know I'm being really dull but it just isn't working.

I have tried dragging and dropping - message at top says syncing with ipod but then just nothing. I've tried 'autofil', same message, same nothing! I've watched the video tutorial which mentions the sync button but there isn't one on my Itunes!!

I'm rather tired now and annoyed that I cannot do this! I have 9hr round trip in next 3 days and really could do with music!

So if any lovely MSEr could help I'd be eternally grateful

TIA

x

When you plug your ipod into the USB port does it show in the itunes left hand column? If it does, click on it and it should show you all the tracks currently on it. Press autofill (at the bottom) and choose which playlist to fill from.
The problem you may have is incompatible tracks due to the DRM (Digital rights Management) allocated to most tracks now.
If this is the case you amy need to re-load/download your tracks.
It's nice to be nice .....
You HAVE checked google before asking, haven't you?;)

If she has any tracks with DRM in iTunes, they will play on an iPod.

    Thanks again both.

The ipod was showing on the left hand side but no contents.

So I restored factory settings and tried once more before bed and it worked :j so pleased now.

Yes they will but, we have to remember that "I've had a bog standard MP3 player before" and we don't know if the tracks are playing in itunes.....

glad it's up and running now though!;)
