What can I do?

I have the threat of redundancy hanging over me, no savings, wife and 3 kids and lots of debts. To be honest I'm bricking it and having a go at everyone I feel so tense. What can I do to feel more in control and better prepared?

reviewed my expenses and cut out anything unnnecessary and started saving what I can
made sure I do the best I can each day at work

  • Contact your creditors to advise - you may be able to start the ball rolling on payment plans etc
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice

Firstly look at something like monster.co.uk. follow their cv hints and tips and do your cv. Set up an e-mail address that you are comfortable with and consider making your CV searchable on monster... Look for jobs in your field... start applying

Second look at your statement of affairs using makesenseofcards and look at where you can make cut backs - perhaps post on the DFW board for extra advice

Personally I wouldn't contact creditors at this stage because it hasn't happened yet and could cause you more problems. If you want to know which debts to pay off first use the snowball calculator at whatsthecost

All the best - good luck! Perhaps read numpty's thread for other ideas...
