Urgent: New York Hotel help please

Options
Hi everyone

Hope someone can help me as as I need to book my hotel urgently as
we are leaving in 2 and a half weeks. We managed to get a great deal on direct return flights with Continental for £239 from Belfast.

Now to hotels- there are not many left that suit - 3 adults (it includes my17 year old son). I don't mind too much which area we stay in as its safe and the hotel is clean and pleasant.

Ok, after extensive searching the possibility hotels are as follows:

The Cosmopolitan. £628
Helmsley Midddletowne $932
The Marcel Gramercy $949
The Eidson $990
Radio City Apartments£1124
the Intercontinental £905

Any advice tips on which one to choose please.
Many thanks in advance :T

    Did you check www.tripadvisor.com

I've always found it to be pretty reliable...you can search the hotels and read real people reviewing them. I've used it to book hotels throughout England (esp London) and the reviews have been pretty accurate. Have posted a few myself too :) It def covers US. It's always worth watching out for the different things people expect too. EG Americans always complain about the size of London hotel rooms not realising that's just the size they are :) but you do get a good sense when you read a few reviews of what is and isn't fair.

Hi rjh090384 it is for 5 nights.

Wayne thanks for your suggestion but Hotel Chandler is unavailable for these dates. But we managed to book The Cosmopolitan. for £628 and it has good reviews.

All the nice Midtown hotels are unavailable at this time.:(

Any other New York tips or recent experiences would be most welcome. :)

    thanks everyone :A

My friends stayed there on their honeymoon and they hated it. They had to move room twice. Only thing going for it was the location.

    Hi Fiona

I've stayed in NY a dozen times - mostly on business in a posh hotel I'd never afford myself - but when my wife and I go, we stay at the Cosmopolitan - as recommended on MSE :)

Clean, small rooms, friendly staff - you'll not be there much anyway as you'll be out and about all the time - and a great location as a tourist base in Tribeca - thats what I'd pick!

EDIT - Also have a friend who swears by this place, though I've never stayed...

Bawbag, many thanks, glad you can personally recommend it. I have just read loads of review on tripadvisor and have to as, is really very noisy?

I just checked out Washington square Hotel, it looks very nice too, but is unavailable for our dates, the Paramount is a bit too dear at £ 1,715.00

    Take care
