The bit I highlighted in red !
Providing DD or card details is a condition of the offer as found on "thegymwebsite" website
You can't have read the terms & conditions as you said earlier in your post and I quote

I would like to complain about the fact that, if this is the case, this is not made clear at any point in the process, not on the Zest magazine, nor on the Thegymwebsite web pages, nor on the Otium (Thistle Hotels)

Asking for the financial details is not asking you to pay for 3 months membership,it is however a condition of the offer that you at least appear to be interested in joining
Probably because they don't want to waste time showing around prospective clients who actually have no intention of joining which as you also state you had no intention of doing
"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."

All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.

Ahhhh yes I thought that you would say that. Actually, just to satisfy your curiosity, I DID fill an application form AND entered my credit card details as requested in the terms. I then received the email with the link to cancel and I cancelled. I then called the Gym website customer service and explained what I had just done and asked them whether I could still make the appt. at the gym and they said yes, it is a FREE month as per terms stated.

I would like to suggest, dear missymugwump, that you might have a bee in the bonnet and are just trying to get me wound up. Please do not waste your time or mine, it does not work. Life is too short and I have wasted enough energy on this issue, now successfully sorted out.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

You deny that you read it anywhere

Then claim you read it & complied

    :rotfl:

Why waste the guys time and customer services time complaining that the conditions of the offer were not too your liking

When you had no intention of signing up,lived too far away to use any of the gyms and just wanted a freebie

If you wanted a free sauna go boil a kettle & sit in your loo :rotfl:

Instead of creating a mountain out of a mole hill & then trying to present yourself as some sort of consumer champion :rotfl:

What a weird response, you don't seem to understand the situation. Why would you NOT want to get a free month at a gym? Especially when that's what was offered!
