I have a battery can opener too but it eats batteries so I'm thinking of buying an electric one." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

Another one to add to the RA gang - I ask someone to chop mine for me and keep it in the fridge, or not very mse but I buy it already chopped (sometimes needs must). I agree with mouseymousey99 about the occupational therapist and also boots do a gadget catalogue for people with problems. hth and that you have a pain free day.Be kinder than necessary because we do not know the battles that someone else may face

While I sympathise with the op (RA is a terrible condition) and understand their frustration, am I the only person to take exception to the swearing in the title of this thread? Please could someone change it.Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0

I also have useless hands, I have psoriatic arthritis. I have a very good peeler that i have had for some years it was given to me by the occupational therapist(sp). think its wearing a bit now though will have to buy a new one. The other problems are I have 2 small children 4 & 3yrs and dressing them in the morning is terrible and very painfull with my useless hands.
The writing on the peeler is REX zena-swiss made, MOD INT 11002 thats all the info I have, hope it helps.0 -

Ohhhh no actually I dont but it would probably make things easier. I will contact my OT and see if there is anything she can do. Its becomming a bit of a running joke with A&E now with the stitches! Its hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........
People tell me Im going the wrong way..............when its simply a way of my own!0 -
I have RA in both hands and my right wrist.
My dad made me a small block of wood with a notch in it so I can fit the point of my sharp knife into the notch & so hold the blade at both ends. I saw a picture of a gadget that does the same, but can't remember where...
This means I can cut/chop with an even downward pressure which makes it do-able, the "normal" way is impossible.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
