A&L Faster payments

I have had an A&L current account for over a year now and was wondering what on earth is going on with their faster payments?
I used to send £500 /month to it (Nationwide -> A&L - to meet the conditions of the account). This is then split 2 ways
1) £xxx transferred to an A&L savings account.
2) £xxx transferred back to my Nationwide a/c.
Total = £500
Usually the A&L -> Nationwide step goes through as Faster payment ie immediately. The amounts I send back to Nationwide vary month to month. The last twice I tried to do this step it took 3 days to transfer. :mad: It used to do payments (varying from £2-£500) as faster payments with no problems and (my Nationwide account accepts faster payments tho cannot sent them yet so I doubt its a problem that end).
Anyone know whats going on? Is there a limit to what can be transferred by faster payments that I'm hitting? Have they changed their faster payments limits/rules recently? Are they just randomly deciding whether to send stuff by FP or BACS?

Similar problems myself this week, transferring from A&L to Halifax. The last couple of payments I sent didn't go through FP. When I phoned to ask if there was any way I could tell if something would go through FP, the bloke wittered on about "if it's the first payment to an account..." (it wasn't - same account had received money through FP earlier in the week) and "if it's over a certain amount..." (it wasn't - in fact it was a lower amount than the FP had been).
It looks to me like it's completely random - as such, for the time being anyway, it's not to be relied upon (which I have to say does make it rather pointless).0 -
Normal limit for sending from A&L is £250 per recipient account per day0
