This is just a stimulating demand sale to avoid them paying out because regular prices start falling, it is mainly off peak fares that will be reduced by up to 50%.

Some fares are highlighted in yellow and haven't fallen.

I checked a return to Barcelona copule of weeks ago and made a note of it

    Friday 01 May

London Stansted to Barcelonaflight 3033; dep. Fri 01 May 18:05
    arr. Fri 01 May 21:20
    £59.99per person
    (incl. taxes and charges)

    Tuesday 05 May

Barcelona to London Gatwick (South)flight 5140; dep. Tue 05 May 22:50
    arr. Wed 06 May 00:05
    £21.91per person
    (incl. taxes and charges)

    Total amount due:1 adult
    £81.90(total cost)

    Today's 'sale' price is

    Friday 01 May

London Stansted to Barcelonaflight 3033; dep. Fri 01 May 18:05
    arr. Fri 01 May 21:20
    £73.99per person
    (incl. taxes and charges)

    Tuesday 05 May

Barcelona to London Gatwick (South)flight 5140; dep. Tue 05 May 22:50
    arr. Wed 06 May 00:05
    £24.93per person
    (incl. taxes and charges)

    Total amount due:1 adult
    £98.92(total cost)

So the so called sale price is higher.

Other real sale fares appear to be available

    Monday 18 May

Ibiza to London Lutonflight 2094; dep. Mon 18 May 01:30
    arr. Mon 18 May 02:55
    £9.93per person
    (incl. taxes and charges)

Compared with pre-Easyjet/Ryanair prices they are...

Must admit I did a quick check on flights I'd booked last week - one of them was a couple a quid cheaper, but even at 'full price' still cheaper to travel several thousand miles than get the train to That Lundun and back.

Easyjet are hardly ever cheap, if you compare there flights to Ryanair's. However I've just booked flights to Amsterdam next month, and there about 60% the cost of BA - So a bit of a 'no brainer' Still cost £80 return though.
