Ive been unemployed since Christmas & am beginning to believe that I will never get another job. I have vast experience in Retail & am toying with the idea of starting my own business, I have capital & the drive but is there any free help & assistance I can get to help me launch a business.
At the job centre they said nothing until I have been unemployed for 6 months but is this correct & does anyone know what help I might get at that time as they were very vague about what may be available to me at that time.

Hi markymark
Have a look at things like business link, your local chamber of commerce, the FSB and other groups in your area. There are usually a number of options available in terms of free advice and support for people thinking of starting up in business.
Good luck

I would check again with you local job centre as the rules have np apparently changed to 13 weeks. A friend lost her job and could get no help paying her mortgage so borrowed from friends at the end of her teather she went back only to be told rules had recently changed. Also have to agree with the above poster, business link have be very valuable to me

Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.0
