cant pay ticket as details are wrong - any comeback in the future?

OH got a PCN ticket last week. I went to pay it online this morning and found that the car reg isn't right. Car make and model could be my car (not sure which car OH was using that day). Car reg doesn't match either. She phoned them up anyway and they said that the car reg is for a silver Merc and hence isn't either of ours and that no further action was required.

I'm just slightly concerned that there may have been 2 cars being done together and the warden put the tickets on the wrong cars and that there is a ticket issued against one of our cars in someone else's possession. I wouldn't like to be harassed at some point in the future.

Anyone have any idea what might happen? We'll obviously be keeping the ticket as proof just in case.

No idea what you are talking about?

Read back your post. Does it give any info at all?

Who, what, where, when, circumstances? they?

  • wrong reg = cancelled PCN
served wrong PCN = cancelled PCN
Keep the PCN do not throw it away.

With respect Bogs me ol' mucker, you are assuming it's a Council issued Penalty Charge Notice.

It could be ppc using similar words to equate to PCN or it could even be ECN or FPN with OP saying PCN because that is most widely known/mentioned?

No mention of any info so can't advise.

For the latter two possibilities above, ECN, FPN, your advice so far would be wrong. Correct for the other two though.

Lol!....very true NB, you are correct to make me think....I'm still not cynical enough...give it time.....I perhaps wrongly assumed due to the use of the word "warden" that in fact it was a CEO. latecomer need you to clarify who served the PCN or whatever it happens to be exactly.

Appologies for the belated reply. It was an official Edinburgh council issued PCN. Presumably it was issued by a parking warden (or blue meanie as they are generally known in Edinburgh).

then Bogs' original advice was correct.

post back if they try it on and trace you via tax disc details or something (they still can't win).
