Posting Fishing Rods - help please.....

Fishing Rods
Hi,

I have a fishing rod to post, it is a solid plastic case and is 190cm x 25cm x 25cm and approx 7KG

Can anyone recomend a cheap courier? I have been quoted over £25 and only charged the ebay buyer £10

Although light, it is oversized (150cm is the limit on most carriers) so attracts a hefty premium.

The only one I can think of is Interparcel Titan, but I still think it will be well over £10.

ArmitageShanks has a thread somewhere with loads of courier contacts - it may give some more pointers.

How did you calculate the £10 in the first place, is the method of postage you checked not available now?

    Pharos is quoting under 10 pounds for 150cm long - I used 5kg and 150 x 12 x12 for the dimensions

    http://www.pharosparcel.com/QuoteAndBook/QuoteMe

    EDIT Sorry misread the dimensions
190x25x25 7kg is 11.61 pounds - might be VAT to add

What on earth are you packing a fishing rod in to make the weight 7Kg?
Interparcel economy service for that weight and dimensions is £6.99 +vat.
