Hotmail problems

I hope i'm asking this in the right place!

I have Hotmail accounts for signing onto 'competition' type web sites or where I need a throw away address and don't usually have any problems. However for about the past three weeks I am having massive problems with Hotmail. When I first log into any of the hotmail accounts my screen goes dead for about three seconds. Then the hotmail screen locks, although any other screens I have up and running are not affected. When the screen locks I can't even close the screen, nothing happens at all.

AFter about 4 minutes the screen unlocks and I can use Hotmail for a few minutes until it locks again, and this happens continually.

I am running Internet Explorer and have a broadband connection. I also have McAfee security centre and Zonealarm installed, but nothing has changed on the computer to have given me this problem.

Can any one suggest anything simple that it might be, or that I can try to stop this happening?

Thanks

Soo

  • Not 100% sure if this is the cause, but I know the Hotmail servers have had problems since they rolled out their 'new improved' 250MB accounts.

You might want to try Yahoo or one of the other freebie email providers until the Hotmail problems clear up.

I gave up hotmail months ago because of all these problems

gmail accounts are good second email accounts because they are so big - and more importantly, you can forward to any other email address
