Card payment not processed

I made a card payment at a Tesco self service machine back on 28th December and it still hasn't been taken from my account. Is there a cut off point as to when payments can be claimed?

No - as with any debt, it is 6 years

Don't Visa/Mastercard have rules to say that the payment needs to be collected in 6 months?

This one always crops up every so often...

6 months as a rule, but can be claimed in 3 years, but always open to chargeback on the 'unreasonable processing times' rule. (sort of rule) Really does depend on the aquirer & merchant.

Sounds to me that the batch file never cleared down.
These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!
  • it should be changed to at least 1 month. It's so unfair to the card holders.
  • lol someone complainin cos they DIDNT get charged (yet..).

best leave the amount due in credit on your account, or they may accuse you of stealing, as you technically havent paid anything for the goods!
Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
