What are these places like anyone been (mexico)

Looking for a holiday to Mexico and dh wants to do a cruise so an all in one sounds a good idea, found one for 9 days for £829 each and goes to the following, is it cheap because there is not much to do?! (awaiting book from library!)

Cabo San Lucas, MexicoMazatlan, MexicoPuerto Vallarta, Mexico

Thanks

Cruising can be a great way of seeing lots of places in a short space of time.

Most people get addicted to cruising after their first experience. You couldn't pay me to get back on a cruise ship though.

    Hi
Check out the listed shore excursions of the line you are going with to get ideas. most of the trips you can do yourselves at much reduced cost because they do not involve long distances. All the ports will have plenty of willing tour guides to barter with. In Puerto Vallarta, we prebooked (on the internet) a zip line. The bus picked us up not far from the ship terminal and took us to beautiful rain forest, where we were taught zip safety, then "flew" across tree tops and ravines, ending with having time free to swim in the clear waters of a lagoon, with natural water slides and refreshments at a cafe built on the rocks. It was great.
Cabo- gets very busy if there are a couple of ships in, around the docking area, there are some souvenir markets, but it is enough just to get a local taxi boat across the bay to the point of the peninsula where the Pacific meets the Baja , called Lands End, you see fantastic rock formations, take great pictures and swim on one side in the calm clear water with tropical fish around you and if you dare from the other side which is cracking surf.
Also, you can book to swim with dolphins in all the ports, it seems to be a big thing there. My daughter and I did it, again booking ourselves at reduced cost. The highlight is when the dolphin propelles you out of the water to standing point and scoots you across the pool.
This is a very different type of port experience to the caribbean, and definately a once in a lifetime must do if you can. But try to do some of the exciting things because just walking around the dock areas where you get off and looking at souvenir shops will be both hot and boring. Otherwise, you can just stay on the ship and enjoy the quiet of a port day.

I went to Puerto Vallarta and swam with both Dolphins and Sea lions, did a Tequila tour. We were there 2 weeks A/I and spent most of our time just relaxing by the beach. Not sure what you could get up to if you are only there for 1 day ish but the cruise line will probably have excursions which you can book so it may be worth trying to contact them to find out if they do any excursions - that's what I did when I did a cruise - and it will give you an idea of what you could do either yourself or with the company.

Puerto Vallarta is one of the few resorts in Mexico where there is a town centre worth spending time in. Cabo is amazing. Cancun is just a Caribbean resort like many others. You'd never guess you're in Mexico unless you leave Cancun and go to the towns around it by the coast (Tulum onwards)

    Enjoy!
