I have quite a few friends who are contractors - some which I've met through working with them, and know they are good at their jobs. Unfortunately they have been out of work since Nov/Dec time and say that alot of the roles on the job sites are not "real" roles and if there are real ones out there the competition is so high, as so many people applying..

I started contracting several years ago, and I started with an Umbrella Company first. It eased me into the whole contracting thing before i took the big step to running my own limited company. The take home is not as high as with a limited company, but i was still getting around 40% more each month than when I was employed.0
