shop asking for money back after 6 weeks!

my partner purchased a car sterio for his car around 2 months ago and after 2 weeks the unit stoped working, he took it back to the shop and they happly replaced it now 6 weeks later he has recived a phone call from they saying the unit was sent off for warrenty repair and they are saying the fault was caused by your insterlation and they want want their money back! can they do this despite the fact they already replced the unit with a new one :mad:
