line rental question

If i leave BT and move to Sky? for line rental, would i still have a BT bill each month? ie would i still keep a BT line number or would they say i have left them and need to be reconnected etc if i returned later?
Dont want to have a new number if i left, so can anyone explain what happens as very new to all this!!!

You will no longer get a bill from BT and will not have to change your number when you move or if you move back again.
However, whether there would be as charge if you even decided to move back will only be answered at the time - it should be free but who knows?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
