It means an extra discount of 3% for me - or £24 per annum. Gamble is whether prices will reduce before June 2010. The £30 get-out penalty is neatly placed just above the £24 saving. I'm not going to change. Surely we must see a reduction in the next 15 months. For me, this 9% electricity reduction coming up has very little effect on my bills

Totally agree, if the regional discounts are based on energy transport etc. then would agree that it will vary from region to region depending on cost of transport etc but these discounts change every time the tariffs change, I assume to "balance" out their public "discounts" and maintain profits at the expense of consumers. The fix online appears to be better value but will quickly lose out if prices fall. It seems the only reason prices fall for the major energy companies is when people start leaving in huge numbers (BGas) or one company sticks its neck out from the "cartel" and drops prices. They appear to maintain prices around the same level and apply confusion to tariffs. I suppose the only way to really save money is to reduce consumption!

Completely agree about publishing regional discounts. As I posted previously, work is currently underway to put Energy Online Extra Saver discounts on our website.:)

Don't have a time frame yet. :sad:

Anyone wanting to know what they are can always give us a call. Can tell you very quickly.

Can't tell you yet why they vary regionally at the moment. Have fed this question back to those who set the discounts and am awaiting a response. Will post again when I have more info.
