I am in my 12wks redundancy notice (place of work being relocated). There is a team of other employees dealing with the redeployment of the stock, they started work on this about 4wks ago. They needed more staff and I volunteered, started on Wed. My previous role was early shifts but this is a late shift. I will be getting the shift allowance while working but not in my redundancy, which I knew before I started. I was ok about that thinking that everyone else would be the same as the job only started a few weeks ago, and is only for approx 12wks.
I was told last night that a girl I used to work with on mornings but who started on the team 4wks ago, is getting her redundancy based on the late shift plus she has gone up 2 grades on her rate of pay which will also be included in her redundancy.
For the last 2 nights I have been doing the same job as her while she is on holiday, so I have asked for an upgrade on my pay which I think I will get, but again, it won't be in my redundancy. Now, do I say anything about the redundancy pay (I am not sure if the information is correct) or do I just carry on? I have roughly worked out that I would get an extra £2000 if I got it.
Should I ask the girl first when she gets back?

Chevk your facts with the other girl first - If she is getting the new rate to calculate her redundancy you should raise this with management.Go round the green binbags. Turn right at the mouldy George Elliot, forward, forward, and turn left....at the dead badger0
