Old MP3 player and Vista

I have a Creative Muvo TX MP3 player. I have recently got a new laptop with Vista and it cannot load the old software that came with the MP3 player, the software which allows you to download and transfer tracks on to the player.
Is there any other software I could use? Would Windows Media PLayer allow me to transfer tracks? I have plugged the MP3 player into the USB and it found the drivers.
I have ITunes for my wife's Ipod. Can ITunes only be used for Ipods?
Grateful for advice. I know there are much more powerful MP3 players around but I am still happy with my old one, it still works perfectly, and I am reluctant to have to replace it.

Creative claim on the website that it has native support under Vista, which is confirmed when you say it's installed the drivers.
Can you view the contents of the device through My Computer, it should show up as a removable device?0 -
If the drivers have loaded okay the mp3 player may show up as a Removable device in My Computer. In which case you may be able to drag and drop files and folders to the Muvo without the need for any software.0

thanks ill try that, the mp3 player is fine. it shows up, controls etc, but the software, the music library etc wont load. Ill have a go and dragging files to it.I can offer no resistance, I can offer no respite

I'd try dragging files FROM it first. If you know its got mp3 files on it and they show up as files in folders etc when you click on it in My Computer, then drag an mp3 from it to your PC and play it. At least you'll be sure its communicating okay that way first and you won't overwrite anything accidentally.0

I'd expect you'd be able to manage it from within Windows Media Player, connect it, verify you can see it in My Computer then go into Windows Media Player and have a look to see if it's there, or if you need to add it through one of the menus.0 -
