HSBC Ignoring me....

Hey all

I sent off for my bank charges following the sample letter on the website. I put in for the FSA Financial Difficulties waiver and as the letter says I expected a response within 14 days.

I also hand delivered the letter to my branch, explained what the letter was about to a nice girl in the lobby of the bank. She said if I waited there she would take it to a manager and make sure it got where it needed to go. She came back a few minutes later and said the manager would take care of it.

That was 21 days ago and still no word. should I call up and start pester them? Thing is im still looking for work and if this carry's on i may well be back in work and no longer qualify by the time they get there act together.

Thanks for your time.

John

It doesnt matter if you work or not to re-claim your bank charges :)

They arent paying any money out at the moment, until the court stuff is settled. You should of had a response by now though. It will be in a queue to be dealt with. If in doubt, go back into your branch and speak to them about it :)
I know my spelling is shocking  It is alot better than it used to be though :rotfl:

I think ill call up the branch direct when they open.

Thanks. Just had to go through directory enquirers to get the HSBC number as they don't bother listing anything but there national number for every branch.

    Thanks again

John, if you have priority debt arrears then the bank MAY pay out an amount of the claim however, they are not obliged to pay anything out. I hope that makes sense.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

This username is no longer active.
  • I took out a loan with hsbc and they would only accept payments back through my current account. unfortunatley i got behind and asked them to stop the direct debit but they refused..... On average they went for the payment 4 times a month and i was charged £25.00 a time... Am i able to claim for this ?

I am new to this site so if in wrong thread, i apologise :j

It does, unfortunately it took bloody HSBC a FULL 4 BLOODY HOURS, 17 People(Including 3 managers) and me calling at least 6 different numbers and talking to every department you could think of before they could tell me that.

I even had one guy flat out refuse to put my call through to the "relevant" department until I put 4quid on my creditcard as it was JUST over its limit. that was after I had been hung up on by the relevant department.

    4 hours!

On the up side I found out this mornign I start my new job on wednesday so I can pay off my overdraft and tell them to go shove it!
