Just got a ticket :-(

Just got a ticket for not displaying a valid tax disc cos the DVLA sent it to my last address instaed of my new one.

Could someone tell me can they give me another fine tomorrow ?
AND how long before they will take the car and crush it :eek:

    First thing get onto DVLA for a replacement. Bad news is that the ticket is for not Displaying not having a tax disc. Technically I'd assume they could give you a ticket every time they saw the car. Not a great deal of help but I'm sure others will be along soon.

    This was from a PCSO.Is he legally able to hand out tickets :confused:

    I thought it was just the police and courts who can hand them out?

    I believe that is illegal to drive a vehicle without displaying a valid tax disc. This would imply that if your tax has expired and you're waiting for a new tax disc that you should not drive your vehicle until the new disc arrives.

    PCSOs can hand out tickets for parking & road tax

    As of Sept 08 you get 5 days after your tax runs out, to drive your car withing showing a valid tax disc if you have either ordered it online or by phone and are waiting on it arriving. If you are within those 5 days you cannot get a ticket.
