how long does it take to work out your average energy consumption?

Options
I am moving into my first house. I know that the previous owner paid about 90 quid a month on her electricity and gas together (but she is an OPA and was on a special over 65 rate). I have no idea how much elec and gas she used to use so can't use the comparison sites.......
How long will it take me to work out how much I use? 3 months????

Thanks for your help!

About 1 month for electricity, one year for gas.

If you start in late January or late July you can probably make a pretty close approximation for gas in 6 months.
  • This will vary according to what you use gas and electricity for - for example, I use gas for heating and hot water, but I cook with electricity. If you use electricity for any heating, then 6 or 12 months is going to give a more reaistic estimate.
