thankyou debtdestroyer007 , can i ask weather you had a good/bad credit score . mine wasnt good i had defaults but have been cleared for a few years now ive got another cc but want to find one with a lower apr.
Im wondering if this has effected being accepted because its still showing on my file even tho settled

hi katie, my credit score wasnt bad, no defaults etc, but all my credit agreements have been opened in the last 18 months, i am making sure i pay everything on time though and hopefully things should improve.

what agency are u using to check ur credit report, look at both experian and equifax, maybe one of them dont register as much adverse perhaps, you can then target a company that uses that particular company.

satisfied defaults will still impact ur score, the key is to make sure its historic and post settlement, you have lots of positve repayment appearing as over time it may be less relevant. how long ago was the default registered because it will fall off in 6 years.
in order to boost ur credit rating even further, you could try
https://www.mycashplus.co.uk with credit builder, they report to experian
let me know what u think. cheers

i have looked at both experian and equifax and i think its experian that hold more info on me . i have default with about 2 to 3 years left before they drop off .I was shocked when i got a capital one card and have been using it to improof my score but like i said i wanted to get a better apr .....
I will wait and see what the letter says when it comes but i have had a decline (from barclays )about three weeks ago which i suppose will not help will it ??

My score must be improofing because my bank offered me a current account with o/d and i only ever was offered basic account before so im getting there slowly ...
  • ya, looks like it is improving. also i would try and stick to no more than 2 searches every 6 months
  • does experian and equifax both show the defaults?

flybe only credit check equifax, but report to both equifax and experian.
i appled some months ago when alot of people on here were being accepted with adverse history. i was lucky and very shocked to be accepted instantly with limit of 3000, i have a default not settled and it has been there just over a yr when i applied but i have to agree with debtdestroyer i applied late at night so i did wonder if it had something to do with it although they did do follow up checks.

Going by your post you applied on thursday, I would give it more time.

It was 15 days before I was given a decision;)
