Whats the best way to get incorrect info off your credit file

I just got my credit file and the tenant in one of my flats has bumped the utility companies for some electricity in 2006 basically in my name, I contacted the electricity company and they said Ill have to pay it, even though I have a lease that states I did not live there, I told them to take me to the small claims court then as when I show the judge my lease I don't fancy their chances they backed off but won't remove it.

I also have CCJ for a dispute i had with a factor company this one is a beauty, they posted the court order to the tenants address not mine, tenant never told me about it i lost at court cos i never showed up. When I found out about it it got recalled and we settled out of court with the company for a lesser amount. This CCJ however is sitting bold as brass on the front page with a big RED bit next to it for that no show that was apparently recalled!

any ideas in how to remove this stuff?

I think you have to write to the person who holds your credit file with proof of what you are saying and they take it off for you, I could be wrong and someone will be along soon to give you better advice I am sure lol

so there is more than one "error" on your credit file . . . . .
Maybe somethings are your fault and not someone elses .

Just because you settled doesnt mean the default should be removed.

It was your fault it happened and it will not be removed.
