Hi,
I am running windows xp, in the network connections window there is a connection for my modem and then one called 1394 Net Adapter, any ideas to what this is as I dont have my pc connected to anything else but my modem???

Hi,
The 1394 Net adapter is a Firewire port (or I-Link if it's a Sony - exactly the same) it is used mainly for transfering video from digital camcorders to your computer.
Nothing to worry about, you just have something that you could make use of if you need/want to do any video editing (using Windows Movie Maker - free with Windows XP).
