Kerbed Alloy (Mini Cooper)
I've just kerbed my (almost brand new) Mini Cooper, badly scraping the (expensive) alloy wheels quite deeply around a quater of the way around. Does anyone know if there's anything I can do other than buy a new wheel?

Thanks!

Try:
(1) some of the mobile SMART paint repair technicians
(2) http://www.wickedwheels.co.uk
(3) Look up wheel refurbishment in your local Yellow Pages
(4) Ask at your local garage/tyre outletThe man without a signature.0 -
Thank you that's really helpful. Wasn't sure if its possible to repair it and do a decent job but definitely worth a try. Very annoyed with myself at the moment. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Its only free because you've paid for it.

You wont want to be doing that too often, expect a repair to cost around £60.0

I'll do my best.
£60 would be a lot less than a new wheel. Even as a factory fit they were nearly £1000 for the set. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Its only free because you've paid for it.

I hope they aren't diamond cut like mine then because I only know of 1 company that can fix them but take a week to do it and they are based in Essex I think.
They are called "Wheels Approved" based in woodham surrey

might be cheaper to buy a single wheel from ebay/breakers yard0

Find a local body shop. I have had a couple of wheels repaired at one and they charged £40.00 per wheel.0

I would get the tracking checked as well if you hit the kerb that hard.0

I scraped it along the kerb rather than hitting the kerb full force. OH seems to think they're painted alloys rather than diamond cut, but will have a look properly in daylight. If it comes to it I'll have to buy 1 new wheel.
The ironic thing is, in all my time having wheel trims I never hit the kerb, and not long after I get alloys - bang. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Its only free because you've paid for it.
