Travel Insurance Jersey & Guernsey

Now that the NHS & the health authorities on the Channel Islands have stopped the reciprocal health service it now means that if you travel to the Channel Islands, even on a day trip, you should take out travel insurance to cover you for any treatment that you may need.
However, my annual insurance states that I am only covered away from my country of residence. Does this cover the Channel Islands?
This could be a grey area which would mean that although I have annual travel insurance I would not be covered travelling to the Channel Islands on a day trip - which we often do.
My insurance company cannot or will not answer the question

    Hi ...

1 - Your country of residence is the UK.

2 - The Channel Islands (and the Isle of Man) are Crown Dependencies - but are not part of the UK.

Matter of interest tho' - who are the Insurers?
