Window quote

Hi,

Just looking into replacing 5 windows and so far have had the following quotes:
Everest - £5500 (yeah right!!)
Anglian - £2450
Local company - £2050

Window sizes:
1x 170mm x 115mm (2 openings)
1x 85mm x 100mm (1 opening)
2 x 110mm x 110mm (1 opening)
1x 55mm x 100mm (1 opening)

They're standard, white upvc with a single horizontal georgian bar.

I'm going to go with Anglian I think... Thanks in advance for any help/advice. By the way, this is for North London.

I just priced that up at approx £1650 (How can Everest try to charge £1100 per window?!!)

Just make sure you get an insurance backed Gtee........small installers are notorious for going bust.......then opening up a new company so they dont need to honour any `10 year gtees.

Do some haggling , i think you can get Everest down to around £2k. At leaset say to them if you want to do the job you have to match the cheapest quote.
  • up here in the north you would be looking between £1800 and 2k

I got another quote from a local company which came back at £2950 so I took the plunge and went with Anglian.

    Thanks for all the comments.

i have my own double glazing business and i certainly would not charge over £2000 for 5 windows that size
  • I am hoping that your window sizes are actually in cm as there will be no point in me getting a quote to redo my double glazing.
