PCN Ticket Contravention Code 19: Oxfordshire Council

Hi all,
Received a parking ticket yesterday outside my girlfriends house which has residents only parking. She gave me a permit which I displayed but when coming back from town noticed I had a ticket.
The Contravention code 19 which is:
Parked in a residents or shared use parking place or zone displaying an invalid permit. an invalid voucher or an invalid pay & display.
The permit I had on display I have taken a picture of:
(won't let me post image so put link in my signature)
When we looked at it we noticed that she had only scratched off the Date, Month and Hour, and had missed out the minutes and year.
So I can agree that the permit was not scratched off with all exact details, but I feel that the issuer could have used some common sense and realised it was a simple mistake, as its clear what date and arrival hour it was done at.
Its not like the day, month and hour were scratched off with the plan of using it again another time because they're only valid for 24 hours of arrival time.
Do you think it is worth me appealing? or just admit a simple mistake was made and pay the fine?

Scan/photograph both sides of the paperwork and post here, see stickies for how to do so. Its always worth appealing but its best to have as much ammunition as possible.
Edit. Remove personal details but leave council and times on.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
I've added the links to my signature.0

Any chance you can upload some good angled photos of the complete parking bay and signage? It may be non compliant with the legislation.0
