Save some money- Dont buy 'No More Nails Glue'

I bought this recently to put up some new skirting boards and one week later they are off the wall! It really does not do what it says on the tin!

That's what I get for being lazy!

Did you put something against the skirting to hold it in place while the glue went off? We've had builders renovating a property for us and they used some very smelly special glue for the skirtings and they had pieces of wood from one side of the room to the other to hold them in place for a few hours.

Also, they told us for jobs you'd use No More Nails for that Sticks Like Sh*t is the bees knees (not a joke, they showed me the tube, made by Evostik).

I've used no more nails for years with no problems whatsover, including for skirting boards in a number of rooms/houses.

I've never had any problems either. Were the walls clean?

I always use Gripfill rather than 'no more nails'. Stinks but holds anything in place!

I dont think you can beat Gripfill, not the low odour yellow tubes not as good as the green solvent based ones, yes they are a bit smelly,it soon goes..I agree with Plasticman, no point going cheap it really doesn't pay.

Gripfill isn't expensive, but it often can't be found in the DIY store. Not sure why?? I get mine from the local builders merchant.

No problems with No More Nails here. Though you do need to make sure you use the right one for the right job...for example if your bonding two non-porous surfaces use the Ultimate variety rather than the standard one. Always read the label! Also i'd recommend the Wickes Forget Nails Ultimate which i believe is slightly cheaper but just as good.
