I have a cash isa with hsbc, and a stocks and shares isa (maxi) with hsbc which i last added to 4 years ago. I am have just moved my bank account to AandL...

Im rather confused, i know i can move my cash isa, but when can i do this, and can i move the stocks and shares isa? and can i put an extra 4k into my stocks and share isa this year? I talked to a girl at my local HSBC last weekend and she was VERY confused...

Yes. You can either re-register or transfer.

What do you expect from a tied agent salesforce. They can sell products very well. Gets a bit awkward for them when you try a bit of servicing on it. I can just imagine the response you would(nt) get if you asked them about re-registration.

Thanks Ill fill my boots at HSBC for now, and think about what to do in the next financial year. Still a bit confused about the cash and share parts, and where you can have them, i was under the assumption they needed to be with the same provider, i was going to move my cash isa to alliance and leciester but they dont offer the share part... i guess that would limit me to 3000 cash per year as i wouldnt be able to continue with the stocks and shares at HSBC or wherever i transfer it to?
